Unlock the learning power of the picture-thinking mind.
Davis® Learning Power is a practical six-session course for parents and educators supporting picture-thinking learners aged 8+, and for older learners aged 16+ who want to take greater ownership of their own learning.
Many bright, creative people think primarily in pictures, experiences and ideas. While this can bring remarkable strengths, it can also make aspects of conventional education unexpectedly difficult. Learners may struggle with attention, reading, written work, revision, memory or understanding information in particular ways—even when they are clearly capable.
Drawing on decades of experience from the Davis methods, Davis Learning Power helps participants understand why these challenges can occur and, importantly, discover practical ways to approach learning differently.
Through interactive discussion, demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants explore:
- the strengths and challenges associated with picture thinking
- the relationship between confusion, perception and disorientation
- practical tools for managing attention and focus
- visual, spatial and hands-on approaches to make learning more meaningful
- strategies for understanding, revision, memory and retention
- ways to build greater confidence and independence in learning
The course can be delivered online or face-to-face, for learners, parents and educators separately or together. No diagnosis is required—Davis® Learning Power is designed around the experience of the picture-thinking learner.
Six sessions. Practical tools. A different way forward.
