Davis® Stepping Stones 2 Workshop – Building on the foundations- Online UK/Europe time zone
September 14 @ 6:30 pm - October 19 @ 8:30 pm BST

A 2-day workshop for parents, educators, and therapists ready to build on the foundations established in Davis® Stepping Stones.
When the foundations are there — but there’s still more to discover
You’ve started to see changes. The individual you support may communicate more easily, express their needs and preferences more clearly, regulate themselves with greater success, or participate more readily in activities and everyday interactions. You may also be seeing new signs of curiosity, flexibility, and awareness of the world around them. But as their understanding grows, new challenges and opportunities emerge.
Stepping Stones 2 builds on these developing foundations by introducing concepts that help individuals make better sense of how the world works — including time, sequence, order and disorder. These concepts can be difficult to grasp when they are presented as abstract ideas, so the Davis approach uses hands-on clay modelling and real-life experiences to make them concrete and meaningful. For individuals who are ready, Stepping Stones 2 also continues to develop self-awareness and self-regulation, helping them understand themselves and their experiences with greater clarity.
The approach remains strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming, working with the individual’s way of thinking and learning, using concrete experiences to make abstract concepts more understandable and transferable.
What changes as the foundations grow
As individuals build on the foundations established through Davis® Stepping Stones 1, parents, educators, and therapists may begin to see them:
- Communicate more easily and express their needs, preferences, and experiences with greater clarity
- Develop a stronger awareness of themselves, including their own thoughts, feelings, choices, and experiences
- Recognize and respond to changes in themselves and their environment with greater understanding
- Use self-regulation tools more independently when they become overwhelmed or unsettled
- Develop a clearer understanding of time, sequence, order, and disorder, and how these concepts relate to everyday experiences
- Understand how events unfold in sequence and time and anticipate what may happen next
- Become more flexible when things don’t happen in the expected order or when plans change
- Apply their developing understanding across different people, places, and situations
- Participate more independently in everyday activities as their understanding and confidence grow
