Once they can turn disorientation off\, they can perceive written language accurately and consistently. \nDavis Symbol Mastery resolves the root cause of reading difficulty — the confusion about the meaning of letters\, words\, and language symbols. Using hands-on clay modeling\, the individual builds a genuine conceptual understanding of each symbol\, eliminating the confusion that triggers disorientation in the first place. \nNo drilling. No repetition for its own sake. No telling them to try harder. In doing so\, we were determined to continue providing richly experiential training. So we explored and implemented numerous ways of ensuring this continued\, even across a digital screen. The feedback from our trainees has been so overwhelmingly positive that we decided to stay with the online model even when the risks from the pandemic started to wane. \n \nThe Gift of Dyslexia online is still the Gift of Dyslexia. This is no dry webinar. We employ a host of creative innovations to ensure the same dynamic\, convivial\, hands-on experience that you would expect from any Davis methods workshop. \nFeatures of the online workshop experience include:  \n\n\n“camera-on\, mic-on” interactive instruction \n\n\nshort video demonstrations of key procedures in a face-to-face setting \n\n\nanimated walk-throughs of our main procedures \n\n\nadapted pair work practice in “breakout rooms” \n\n\ncontent review and Q&A sessions to reinforce your learning as you go along \n\n\nin-session use of plasticine clay\, so you can experience Davis Symbol Mastery hands-on. \n\n\n We strongly recommend connecting to the sessions from a computer or large tablet. During the clay modelling sessions\, a second device (such as a smartphone) will be needed so that the Presenter and fellow-participants can see your face and your clay models at the same time. \n \nYour Workshop Presenters \n \nCathie Geraci \nCathie is an American who has lived in Venice Italy for over 30 years. She holds degrees in Economics and Speech Communication.  She has over 20 years of experience with learning difficulties both personally with her neurodivergent children as well as working with neurodivergent individuals. She discovered the Davis Methods 15 years ago and the results were so spectacular for her children that she immediately began to train to become a facilitator. In addition to helping over 200 individuals to help understand their intelligence as a facilitator\, she is a Training Supervisor and Workshop Presenter for the Davis Autism Method. No repetition for its own sake. No telling them to try harder. SUMMARY:Advanced Supervised Practice Meeting – Online
DESCRIPTION:This five-day course provides intensive supervision leading to mastery of the core Davis procedures; and further instruction in the logic\, reasoning\, and strategies underlying the Davis methods\, and the administration of Davis Programs. This course may be required to be repeated for those needing additional practice. Advanced Field Assignments must be submitted 21 days before workshop starts. This course must be done with the same Specialist who reads and evaluates these Advanced Field Assignments.
