DESCRIPTION:Times to be confirmed depending on time zone of participants. \nWe are delighted to announce our next Gift of Dyslexia Workshop held online. But you’d hardly notice the difference! We work for 90 minute sessions followed by a 30 minute break to ensure that you don’t get Zoom fatigue. For this reason the workshop is spread over 5 days instead of the usual 4 days. (Don’t be fooled by the manual cover.) \nTo keep you safe during the Covid pandemic and to allow access for those who can’t travel\, we have moved our professional training online.\nBut the Gift of Dyslexia online is still the Gift of Dyslexia. \nThis is no dry webinar. We employ a host of creative innovations to ensure the same dynamic\, hands-on experience you would expect from any Davis methods workshop. Features of the online workshop experience include: \n\nface-to-face video conferencing in real time\nshort video demonstrations of key procedures in a face-to-face setting\nanimated walk throughs of our main procedures\nadapted pair work practice in break out rooms\ncontent review and Q&A sessions as we go along to reinforce your learning\nin-session use of plasticine so you can experience Davis Symbol Mastery hands-on.\n\nThe Gift of Dyslexia Workshop is an introduction to the fundamental theories\, principles and procedures of Davis Dyslexia Correction. These basic principles and methods form the foundation of the various Davis Programmes for dyslexia\, dyspraxia\, dyscalculia\, dysgraphia and ADD/ADHD. Training is done with a combination of lectures\, demonstrations\, paired practice sessions and Q & A. Each participant will have the opportunity to understand\, experience and practice each procedure. Attendance is limited to ensure the highest quality of training. \nWho should attend:\nParents\, Teachers\, RTLB’s\, Reading Specialists\, Teacher Aides\, Tutors and those interested in completing the Licensed Facilitator Training Programme. \nWhat you will learn\, see demonstrated\, and personally experience: \n\nProven methods for improving reading fluency\, spelling\, motor coordination and attention focus.\n• How the Davis procedures were developed\n• How dyslexics think and perceive\n• How to assess for the ‘gift of dyslexia’\n• How to help dyslexics eliminate confusion and focus attention\n• Davis Symbol Mastery and Reading Exercises for mastering reading and spelling

SUMMARY:Pod Week 1 – Online
DESCRIPTION:This training ensures professional standards of quality for providing 5-day Davis programs are fully developed and understood. Students work in groups of 3 (pods) under the supervision of a Davis Specialist\, in one of the following roles for a full week: \n\nProviding a 5-day Davis Program.\nReceiving a 5-day Program.\nObserving a Program.\n\nStudents must complete 3 pod weeks – one in each role. The roles are not done in a specific order\, e.g.\, some students may provide a program during their first Pod Week\, while others may provide a program in their third Pod Week. The Pod Weeks are scheduled by availability of roles: each group of three must have a provider\, a client\, and an observer. Therefore scheduling is subject to forming groups of three students who all have complimentary roles. The observing and providing roles may need to be repeated to improve skills. Includes individual supervisor consultations\, Client Kit in the “receive program” Pod Week\, and handbook of forms required for providing Davis programs. Group discussions and short lectures are led by a Specialist are held throughout the Pod Weeks. These further prepare a student for providing Davis programs in a professional\, business setting.
