SUMMARY:The Gift of Dyslexia workshop for Home Educators – London
DESCRIPTION:This  30 hour workshop is an introduction to the basic theories\, principles and  application of all the procedures described in Ronald Davis’s  internationally best-selling book\, The Gift of Dyslexia\, and more. \nTraining  is done with a combination of lectures\, demonstrations\, group practice\,  and question and answer sessions. Attendance is limited to ensure the  highest quality of training. \nWho Should Attend \nParents • HOME EDUCATORS • Teachers • SENCOs • Special Needs Support Staff • Tutors • \nPsychologists • Counsellors • Speech therapists • Occupational Therapists • Trainers • Researchers • Career Guidance Counsellors • Anyone interested in helping others correct their dyslexia \nParticipants will learn: \n\nHow the Davis procedures were developed.\nHow to screen for the “gift of dyslexia” and establish a symptoms profile.\nHow to help dyslexics eliminate perceptual disorientation and focus their attention.\nSpecial techniques for working with people who do not visualize well or have ADHD symptoms.\nHow to incorporate and use proven methods for reducing confusion and mistakes in a classroom\, home-schooling\, tutoring or therapeutic setting.\nHow to structure a Davis Dyslexia Programme.\n\n\nTo learn more about the Programme and read testimonials have a look here:\n\nhttps://www.davislearningfoundation.org.uk\n\nFor further information I recommend reading The Gift of Dyslexia by Ronald D Davis.\n\nThe group will be led by Axel Gudmundsson from Gifted Dyslexic (https://www.gifteddyslexic.com) who is a trained Davis Programme Facilitator and workshop presenter and has worked with home Ed groups before.\n\nWHEN\nThe classes will run on Thursday mornings from 9:00-12:00 for 10 weeks. You will have to commit to the full programme.\nStart date: 18 January 2024\n\nWHERE\nThe classes will take place at Cann Hall and Harrow Green Baptist Church hall\, Cann Hall Road\, E11 3HY.\n\nWHAT\nThe Programme includes\n– Focusing Tools including Orientation and coordination exercises\n– Davis Symbol Mastery exercises.
