SUMMARY:Basic Practice Meeting – Online Asia-Pacific time
DESCRIPTION:This four-day course (5 days if online) is open to students who have completed the Basic Field Assignments. Its purpose is to refine counsellor skills\, and develop increased experiential understanding of dyslexic perception\, thinking\, learning style and process. It provides intensive supervised practice in small groups of the basic Davis procedures and is focused on improving technical skills. This course may be required to be repeated to improve skills for those wishing to pursue licensing as Davis Facilitators. But you’d hardly notice the difference! We work for 90 minute sessions followed by a 30 minute break to ensure that you don’t get Zoom fatigue. For this reason the workshop is spread over 5 days instead of the usual 4 days. \nTo keep you safe during the Covid pandemic and to allow access for those who can’t travel\, we moved our professional training online.\nBut the Gift of Dyslexia online is still the Gift of Dyslexia. \nThis is no dry webinar. We employ a host of creative innovations to ensure the same dynamic\, hands-on experience you would expect from any Davis methods workshop. Features of the online workshop experience include: \n\nface-to-face video conferencing in real time\nshort video demonstrations of key procedures in a face-to-face setting\nanimated walk throughs of our main procedures\nadapted pair work practice in break out rooms\ncontent review and Q&A sessions as we go along to reinforce your learning\nin-session use of plasticine so you can experience Davis Symbol Mastery hands-on.\n\nThe Gift of Dyslexia Workshop is an introduction to the fundamental theories\, principles and procedures of Davis Mastery for Dyslexia. These basic principles and methods form the foundation of the various Davis Programmes for dyslexia\, dyspraxia\, dyscalculia\, dysgraphia and ADHD. Training is done with a combination of lectures\, demonstrations\, paired practice sessions and Q & A. Each participant will have the opportunity to understand\, experience and practice each procedure. SUMMARY:Basic Practice Meeting – Online NZ time
DESCRIPTION:This four-day course (5 days if online) is open to students who have completed the Basic Field Assignments. Its purpose is to refine counsellor skills\, and develop increased experiential understanding of dyslexic perception\, thinking\, learning style and process. It provides intensive supervised practice in small groups of the basic Davis procedures and is focused on improving technical skills. This course may be required to be repeated to improve skills for those wishing to pursue licensing as Davis Facilitators. Includes individual Specialist consultation. Note: Basic Field Assignments must be submitted 21 days before workshop starts. This course must be done with the same Specialist who reads and evaluates these Basic Field Assignments.
